The Important of the Willis Circle in our body

The Willis Circle is an arterial structure located at the base of the cerebellum. It is made up of the internal carotid arteries, anterior cerebral, anterior communicators, posterior cerebral and posterior communicators.

Its primary function is to allow the distribution of blood flow between the cerebral hemispheres and to offer alternative routes in case of arterial obstruction. Here you can see a real anatomical preparation of Willis Circle.

Its size allows it to fit in the palm of your hand. Their shape varies among individuals.
