African Business Leaders Gear Up for Unstoppable Africa 2025

The African business community is preparing for the fourth edition of Unstoppable Africa, hosted by the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI), set to take place on September 21–22 in New York alongside the UN General Assembly.

The initiative was launched in 2022 by the UN Global Compact with the mission of reshaping global perceptions of Africa and strengthening international business ties with the continent. It has since earned strong backing from the African Union.

“Our message is clear: Africa should not only adapt to change but take the lead in shaping the future,” said Sanda Ojiambo, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, during a press briefing on Thursday.

By highlighting the voices and ambitions of Africa’s private sector, GABI aims to position the continent as a driving force in innovation, trade, and sustainable growth.

Unstoppable Africa 2025 to Spotlight Trade, Markets, and Africa’s Global Leadership Potential

The 2025 edition of Unstoppable Africa, the flagship event of the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI), will focus on Africa’s growing influence in global markets and its potential to lead in international trade.

The high-level forum will unite business leaders, government officials, policymakers, and both regional and global stakeholders to chart the future of African business.

“The private sector continues to remain resilient. Even in times of conflict and instability, business finds a way to endure,” said Sanda Ojiambo, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact.

Since its launch, Unstoppable Africa has become a platform for influential dialogue. Across its first three editions, the event has brought together 10 heads of state and more than 8,000 participants, according to the United Nations.
