FC Barcelona have officially secured the future of young midfielder Marc Bernal, who has signed a contract extension running until June 2029. The deal was finalized on Monday morning at the Club Offices, with president Joan Laporta, vice president Rafael Yuste, and sporting director Deco all in attendance.
An emotional Bernal described the moment as a dream come true: “It’s the happiest day of my life. If you had told me two years ago this would happen, I wouldn’t have believed it. Since I was a child, this has always been my dream, and now it’s real.”

The 19-year-old has recently returned from a serious knee injury that sidelined him for most of last season. While acknowledging the challenges, Bernal stressed patience and progress: “It’s all part of the process. There’s no need to rush—my best version will arrive when the time is right.”

Bernal named former Barça captain Sergio Busquets as one of his idols, recalling how the legendary midfielder reached out during his injury: “Busquets is a role model for me. When he sent me a message after my injury, it meant so much.”
